New Dimensions is a contemporary floral design club; formed to facilitate keen flower arrangers in the North East region to learn and develop new styles and push the boundaries of their art form, using plant materials in many innovative ways. The influence of other art forms, fashion, painting, and sculpture can be seen in the creative work of our members. The club is comprised of both experienced and new members, who are keen to keep up to date with current flower arranging trends.
Club meetings are held as workshops and demonstrations. Subscribed members are invited to attend all club events, and non-members are welcome to attend demonstrations for a small fee.
The club meets at New Earswick Folk Hall (north of York); occasional large demonstrations are held at various other venues.
The annual programme is drawn up with the intention of booking the best contemporary designers from throughout Europe and the United Kingdom to demonstrate or tutor workshops.
Our larger meetings are accompanied by trade stalls, selling plants, books, and sundries; giving our members the opportunity to purchase many unusual items.
New Dimensions is affiliated to the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS).
